A planned salute to first responders turned into a tribute to a disco era boy band on Columbia, S.C., NBC affiliate WIS.
After the devastating floods in South Carolina, WIS wanted to salute First Responders by having the anchors dress up in costume.
Viewers told the station the foursome looked more like the Village People than those real people who put their lives on the line when you need it most, so they added music and let it happen.

So this happened: #WIS10 Sunrise honoring Midlands 1st Responders, now as: #VillagePeople!

TVSpy thinks it might have been better if the gang at WIS stayed on the well-paved high road of good intentions, than let the station RV veer over onto the shoulder of shame.
