There’s more retirement news today, this time out of Spokane, Wash.
Longtime KHQ morning anchor Sean Owsley says he’ll step down from his morning show role after 27 years.
He told The Spokesman he’s doing it for two reasons: It’s exhausting waking up at 2:30 a.m. everyday and he wants to spend more time with his family.
“No matter how you approach it, it does make you tired,” he said. “My son’s older now and I want to be able to stay up and be with him and enjoy his college years.”
Sam Adams, KHQ’s longtime director of sports, is taking Owsley’s place as the anchor of the 2 1/2-hour morning show—a move that Owsley says makes perfect sense.
“Sam and I have gotten along since day one, and to pass the baton along to somebody that you respect, you can’t ask for more than that,” Owsley said.
