Someone Threw a Rock Into a Denver Reporter’s Live Truck

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KUSA reporter Liz Kotalik posted photos of a smashed live truck window today on Twitter.

The entire passenger side where the reporter normally sits was covered with shattered glass from the window.

“Everyone is OK. I would’ve been sitting in that seat, but I left our live location to get my computer. Don’t know who did this or what their motive was, but the environment journalists are in is scary. This is unacceptable. Thank you @DenverPolice for responding so quickly,” she wrote, attaching the disturbing photos.

Later in the thread, Kotalik said an unknown person threw a rock into the window of their live truck while she was on location. Her photographer was sitting in the driver’s seat.

“I want to give a shout out to #9news photojournalist @GodaNico. He was in the truck, got hit with glass (he’s okay), talked with police, drove the truck to the station, then cut a story that’s airing tomorrow. I’m doing ‘what if’s’, but he was there … and he kept working,” she wrote.

Denver police are now investigating the incident.
