Someone Made a List of the Top 50 Hottest News Anchors

By Kevin Eck

WNYW morning meteorologist Mike Woods is the hottest news anchor, according to a list compiled by Buzzfeed’s readers.

“We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us the name of their hot local news person,” said Buzzfeed on how they chose the hotness. “They gave us the names and then we ranked them because that’s what we do.”

What makes the Good Day New York guy so hot? “Sometimes he does the weather forecast shirtless,” says the post, which doesn’t include women.

“I have to say, my coworkers/friends/family are trying to keep my ego in check, but you guys aren’t helping with this!” Woods told TVSpy. “I appreciate the props, especially among such a talented group! And, in case anyone was wondering, I’m a truly humble and, sometimes, shy guy.”

As far as getting on Buzzfeed to check out the list, Woods has some sage advice.

“I hope you all don’t sprain your thumb scrolling down to the bottom to see who is number one, because you already know who it is!!,” he said.

Here are the locals rounding out the top ten: #2 – Adam Joseph from WPVI in Philadelphia. #3 – Reggie Aqui at KGO in San Francisco. #4 – Kyle Clark at KUSA in Denver. #6 – Erik Barajas from KTRK in Houston. #7 – Mark Mester from KTLA in Los Angeles. #8 – Alex Maragos from WMAQ in Chicago. #9 – Matt Barnes from WCMH in Columbus and #10 – Morgan Chesky from KOMO in Seattle.

ABC News reporter Gio Benitez made the list at #5.
