Sinclair’s Savannah Station to Produce Its Own Newscast

By Kevin Eck

Savannah, Ga., Fox affiliate WTGS will produce its own newscast starting tonight after the station’s news sharing agreement with Hearst-owned WJCL expired.

Tim Walsh, GM of WTGS, told TVSpy the station launches its own news tonight at 10 p.m.

“We felt that now was a good time to do it,” Walsh told Broadcasting & Cable. “Sinclair’s news operation runs very deep. With those assets in mind, we thought it would be an excellent opportunity to take it this year.”
