Sinclair Broadcast Group has named gms at two of its local stations.

WNWO gm John Nizamis has been named gm of CBS affiliate WSBT in South Bend, while Charity Freeman has been promoted to take his place as gm of NBC affiliate WNWO in Toledo.

“I am excited and honored to be joining the talented professionals here at WSBT-TV22,” said Nizamis. “This is a world class facility with a very dedicated team that is committed to bringing value to our viewers, clients and the communities we serve. With the support of Sinclair and its tremendous reach and leadership, we are confident we will continue to be one of the country’s great television stations.”

Nizamis has been gm at WNWO since 2014. Before being named gm of WNWO in 2014, Nizamis was gsm at WPTA and WISE in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Freeman has been gsm at WNWO since 2014. She worked at PTA and WISE from 2002 until 2014. She started her broadcast career in 1997 at WHIO in Dayton, Ohio.

“I am thrilled for this new opportunity at NBC 24,” said Freeman. “We have made great strides in the last two years, but still have much to accomplish, and I look forward to leading the team and continuing the growth.”
