Simone Aponte Promoted to ND at Fox Owned KTVU

Simone Aponte has been promoted to vice president and news director of Oakland Fox owned station KTVU.

“Simone has been a key contributor to our newsroom’s success for nearly a decade,” said senior vice president and general manager of KTVU and KTVU Plus, Mellynda Hartel. “Her strong news judgement and management style will enable KTVU to continue to deliver the high quality news and information our viewers expect from us each day.”

Aponte joined KTVU in 2014. She has spent the last 2 years as assistant news director, after holding the roles of managing editor and executive producer at the station. Before joining KTVU, Aponte served as an ep for KFMB in San Diego and before that at KSWB Fox 5. She started her career as a producer for KUSI San Diego.
