Scott Smith Named Sports Director at WTVT

Fox-owned Tampa, Fla., station WTVT has named Scott Smith sports director.

Smith starts Wednesday and replaces Chip Carter who announced his retirement in early February.

“Scott Smith is a sports dynamo,” said vp of news John Hoffman. “He is knowledgeable, likeable, and has an outstanding on-air personality.”

Smith comes from Fox’s station in Washington, D.C. WTTG where he was a sports anchor. He’s also worked at KPHO in Phoenix, KOTV in Tulsa. He started his career working as a reporter for Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area and worked in production at KNTV.
