Former KCBS-KCAL news director Scott Diener has been named news director at KMOV in St. Louis.
Diener left KCBS-KCAL in June 2015 after five years as news director at the CBS-owned stations.
“Scott’s experience, vision, and strong news leadership will be great for our team, our brand, and our community,” said Mike Murphy, vp and GM of KMOV. “I know he’s going to do an outstanding job.”

Murphy told TVSpy Diener starts Tuesday, Sept. 6.
He replaces Brian Thouvenot who left the St. Louis CBS affiliate in June.
