Alicia Neaves is coming back to Tegna’s San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS.

Neaves left the station in 2017 to work as an anchor at Tegna-owned WLTX in Columbia, S.C., Upon her return, she will co-anchor the weekend evening newscasts with Phil Anaya and will also report during the week.

News director Jack Acosta said the station is thrilled to welcome Neaves back.

“Her local ties and passion for people-focused stories made her a perfect fit for us,” said Acosta. “We can’t wait to have her on the anchor desk and out in the community she loves.”

Neaves, a San Antonio native, started her career in production at WOAI in San Antonio before moving to KWES in Odessa/Midland as a bilingual reporter covering the border. She said she has watched KENS for as long as she can remember.

“Watching the station is a family tradition,” Neaves said. “From the days of Gary Delaune, Dan Cook and Chris Marrou, we always chose KENS 5 as our trusted news source. To be back working with the very professionals I’ve always admired is simply a gift. I look forward to continuing to learn from the best of the best.”
