San Antonio Channel Makes Morning Anchor Changes

There’s an anchor shuffle in San Antonio.

KSAT is promoting weekend anchor Stephanie Serna, who will move to the weekday morning spot as Good Morning San Antonio’s new anchor.

Serna will replace Leslie Mouton, who left the show in June after 21 years.

“Stephanie has been part of the KSAT family for more than 10 years and seeing her growth over that time as a reporter and anchor has been impressive,” said KSAT 12 vice president and general manager Phil Lane in a statement. “As a San Antonio native, she brings an understanding of this community and its residents to the anchor desk, with a genuine warmth that is perfect for a morning audience who’s looking to our team to start their day off right. We look forward to her contributions to the morning conversation.”

To fill Serna’s weekend position, reporter Sarah Acosta will move to the desk as a reporter-anchor. She’ll host Good Morning San Antonio on the weekends.

“We know our viewers expect more from us and we know how essential morning news is to the greater San Antonio area,” Lane said. “Now, perhaps more than ever, our audiences are looking to us to keep them informed, help them wade through the challenges of living, parenting and learning through the pandemic. Our morning teams are vital to our continued success.”
