Wright also found out Friday that she passed the Ohio bar, after recently receiving her law degree from the University of Dayton. Also passing the bar was another local resident and law school classmate of Wright’s, former Highland County Sheriff’s Office detective Denny Kirk.

Wright said she is returning to journalism because it allows her to continue a line of work she discovered that she missed after leaving The Times-Gazette.

“I enjoyed law school, but I missed writing,” she said. “I was interested in a position reporting on Dayton. This will enable me to report on Dayton on multiple platforms, and I’m really excited about the opportunity to cover the Dayton community.”
