WRAL‘s main evening anchor, Lynda Loveland, is leaving.
She made the announcement today saying she wants to spend more time with her children.
“My oldest is now a freshman in high school. In four years she’ll be out of the house and off to college. This phase of active, hands-on mothering will soon turn to a more hands-off role. In an effort to slow down the hands of time and be more available for my children during these all important teen/pre-teen years, I need to be home at night, with them,” Loveland said in a Facebook post.
She will be taking a job as the public policy director for the North Carolina Farm Bureau.
Loveland anchors the 4:30, 5:30 and 10pm shows for the Raleigh station. She started with Capitol Broadcasting Company, the group that owns WRAL, 19 years ago as a weekend anchor for WRAZ, the sister station.
Her last day will be December 1.
