Rafael Sánchez Leaving WRTV in Indianapolis

By Kevin Eck

Rafael Sánchez is leaving WRTV this week after 26 years with the station.

Friday’s edition of Good Morning Indiana will be his final broadcast.

“LC and TK made every morning rewarding and worthy of rejoicing. I know I had their backs, and they knew they had no greater cheerleader,” Sanchez wrote on Facebook. “Lauren and Todd are proof that family doesn’t have to be biological. They go with me with admiration, respect and much love. I will miss you and will forever celebrate your successes.”

Sánchez said he will not be leaving Indianapolis and will continue hosting up to 40 charitable events across Central Indiana.

“You will not meet another guy who puts his heart and souls into everything he does,” meteorologist Todd Klaassen wrote on social. “The ultimate coworker and more of a champion for the community. He is like a brother from another mother, and I will miss him each morning.”
