WGCL, the Meredith-owned CBS-affiliate in Atlanta, has inked a deal with Atlanta sports radio station WQXI-AM (The Zone) in which the Big League Broadcasting-owned WQXI will provide all on-air content and hosts for WGCL newscasts and original sports programming. WGCL’s original programming includes the “SEC Wrap-Up Show” and the “CBS Atlanta Dawg Show.”

“This is a successful partnership for Atlanta sports fans and WGCL-TV,” said WGCL-TV Senior VP/General Manager Kirk Black. “The experience and personality of Atlanta’s premiere sports talk radio station will add valuable resources to CBS Atlanta.”

Steve Schwaid, WGCL news director, said in a statement, “It will allow CBS Atlanta to answer our viewers’ tough questions and deliver on our promise of providing the very latest news and information every night.”
