MSNBC host Rachel Maddow returned to Western Massachusetts Sunday as a role model and source of inspiration for students going out into the world.
Maddow spoke to the Smith College graduates in Northampton. The impact was obvious from the moment she received her honorary degree, and it continued as the internationally known MSNBC host shared with the class of 2010, her view that personal triumph is often overrated.
