Programming Exec Sean Compton Upped at Tribune

Another day, another promotion at Tribune Broadcasting.

Sean Compton, who has been senior vice president of programming and entertainment for Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co.’s TV and radio division, today was bumped up to president of programming, effective immediately.

The move follows Monday’s formal elevation of Jerry Kersting from Tribune Broadcasting chief executive officer to its president, replacing Ed Wilson, who stepped down Friday.

Like Kersting and Tribune Co. Chief Executive Randy Michaels, Compton previously worked at Clear Channel Radio and Jacor Communications. More…
