Portland Station Shows Viewers the Work Behind the Newscast

Portland, Maine’s WMTW showed viewers what happens behind the scenes at the ABC affiliate.

In a “Day in the Life“, the station said it takes 140 man hours to put together a 90 minute newscast.

“Things always go wrong live. It’s a matter of making things go smooth enough so if you’re sitting at home you have no idea that something massive has gone on behind the scenes, whether it’s we lose a live shot or an anchor turned to the wrong camera,” said 6:00 p.m. producer Alyssa Elias.
