Police Standoff Ends in Front of Sacramento Station

By Kevin Eck

At around 9:00 p.m. last night, a CHP chase that started as routine traffic stop ended with the suspect holding a gun to his head right in front of Sacramento FOX affiliate KTXL

At one point during the three hour stand off, the man, identified only as Cory, could be heard yelling, “I’m ready to go. I’m ready, baby! I’m ready! They called me. They called me.”

About two and half hours after it started, Cory dropped the gun and was taken down by a K-9 officer. KTXL reports family at the scene say Cory suffers from mental health issues.
