Fox 10 Phoenix reporter Mike Galka is one of many journalists who have contracted Covid-19.
In a thread on Twitter, Galka said it was the sickest he’s ever been.
“4 weeks ago today I tested positive for Covid-19. The next two weeks of my life were absolute hell – the sickest I’ve ever been with just about every single symptom you’ve already heard about. But I’m lucky,” he said.
Galka, like many reporters, have been covering the pandemic since day one. Some stations are still not allowing reporters to conduct in-person interviews, but others are.
“I’m hopeful that, if you’re reading this, you’re doing everything you can to take care of you and yours. If you’ve been impacted, I’m here for you. It’s really helped me to talk about the physical and emotional toll it took on me,” he wrote.
He is now back in the field reporting and doing OK.
