Philadelphia traffic anchor Bob Kelly is recovering after being sucker punched during an event at the Jersey Shore on Sunday.
Kelly, who has worked at Fox owned WTXF since 2014, is blaming a TikTok challenge, similar to the one involving Cardi B, for the attack. He was hit while he was emceeing a party at a pub in Sea Isle City. The unidentified attacker poured beer on Kelly, then punched him in the face.
For those who don’t know, Cardi B was hit with a cup of liquid during a performance. She retaliated by throwing her mic at the attacker.
Kelly was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center but didn’t suffer any serious injuries. He appeared on Good Day Philadelphia with a swollen eye.
“Thank you so much for all of the messages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, cell phone, texting…all concerned about me,” Kelly said on air. “I’m OK, I’m here.”
