Maine Meteorologist Would Have Been Charged With Sexual Assault, If He Were Alive

WCSH meteorologist Tom Johnston, who committed suicide last month, has been named as the suspect in a sexual assault case.

In a press conference this morning, Oxford County Sheriff, Wayne J. Gallant, announced Johnston would have been charged with gross sexual assault if he were alive.

NH1 posted the report (see below) that says a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted at a residence and that the suspect left the scene and was later identified as a missing person.

Johnston was initially reported missing by his girlfriend before his body was discovered.  As TVSpy previously reported, the local meteorologist never returned from an event he was covering for the station.

He worked at the NBC-affiliate in Portland, Maine for three years.  The station is reporting on the latest development.
