Oklahoma Photojournalist Gene Rickman Dies at 52

KFOR photographer Gene Rickman died over the weekend. He turned 52 on Friday.

Rickman had been with the Oklahoma City NBC affiliate for 12 years after working at television stations in Phoenix, Kansas City, Dallas and Tulsa.

The station said “Many of us jokingly called him ‘Mean Gene’, but in reality he was one of the sweetest, kindest people you’d ever meet.”

He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Angie and their son, Wil.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt on Tuesday, sent condolences to Rickman’s family and KFOR for his service to Oklahoma communities. Various police departments in Oklahoma also expressed their condolences over his death.
