When the national spotlight shines on an up-and-coming politician, the media is bound to uncover skeletons in his/her closet. For Christine O’Donnell, the Tea Party Senate candidate in Delaware, those revelations may involve actual skeletons.

O’Donnell abruptly cancelled Sunday morning appearances on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and “Fox News Sunday” as video circulated in which she says that she once “dabbled in witchcraft.”

“I’ve covered politics for a long, long time, but this is the first time witchcraft has ever come into it,” “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer mused to The New York Times on Sunday. While Schieffer could find humor in the situation on Sunday afternoon, he and his Fox counterpart Chris Wallace were not smiling as they announced the cancellation on their shows. (Video here)
