Nima Shaffe to Join WXYZ in Detroit

By Kevin Eck

Nima Shaffe will be leaving his hometown of Kansas City to join Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ.

Shaffe, who is currently a reporter for CBS affiliate KCTV, said in his station bio page he’s always thrilled his family gets to see him on air. “Every time I step in front of the camera, it’s a tribute to my parents,” said the Kansas City native. “Both of my parents were born and raised in Iran and later immigrated and gained U.S. citizenship. Kansas City became their second home. Every time I step in front of the camera, I tell myself, ‘This one’s for you Dad. This one’s for you Mom.”

He previously worked for KMTV in Omaha and KKTV in Colorado Springs, CO.
