TVSpy heard from multiple sources this week that anchor Mike Barajas had exited Houston’s KRIV. It appears that Barajas has left the Fox-affiliate, but only on vacation.
Houston media blogger, and KIAH reporter, Mike McGuff first reported Barajas’s departure on Sunday but had to quickly run an update to amend the original post.
According to a Fox spokesperson, Barajas has not left the station and is, in fact, on vacation.
Barajas started with KRIV in 1986 and has anchored the station’s 9 p.m. newscast since 1992. Judging from the dramatic reaction of online commenters to Barajas’s rumored departure, KRIV will have to think twice about moving him in the future.
