New Orleans Weekend Anchor to Join Houston Fox Station as Reporter

WDSU weekend anchor Sherman Desselle will join Houston Fox owned station KRIV as a reporter and fill-in anchor on June 28.

Desselle heads to Houston from New Orleans’ NBC station where he was a weekend anchor and reporter. While at WDSU, he won an RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Award in Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for a documentary, History and Hope: Our Hidden Past.

“Sherman is passionate about covering the issues that are often overlooked or ignored, and we are excited he will have the opportunity to bring those stories to light to help the community,” said KRIV vice president and news director Susan Schiller.

“I’m elated to be a part of the FOX 26 team and make Houston my home. I already have friends and family waiting to greet me there, in this culturally diverse city rich with opportunities.”

He’s also worked at KALB in Alexandria, La.
