Kid Hurricane Reporter From New Orleans Takes the Internet

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

New Orleans meteorologists have some new competition.

As Hurricane Zeta passed through the city late last week, a home video of a boy acting out a weather live shot hit Twitter and everyone went wild. Not only was it comic relief after a brutal hurricane season, but the young storm chaser, Lenny Sandifer, executed some very excellent walk-and-talk.

“Take a look over my shoulder,” Sandifer said in his report, as wind and rain pounded his street.

“Oh. My. Goodness. I’m about to lose my job. Meet storm chaser Lenny Sandifer, New Orleans,” said local WGNO meteorologist Scott Pilié.

The video has more than 100,000 views. It’s easy to see why.
