WBTW, the CBS station in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has hired a new co-anchor for its 5:30 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Annette Peagler will join the station in that role, and also work as solo anchor for Fox News at 10 on WFXB, WBTW’s sister station.

Peagler joins Meaghan Miller at 5:30 and Bob Juback at 11. She comes from Memphis, Tenn. where she was a weekend evening anchor at WATN.

The talent switch comes as longtime evening anchor Nicole Boone announced her retirement from the desk to become the station’s special events anchor.

“We are delighted to welcome Annette Peagler to the WBTW News team. We’re fortunate to be able to hire someone with Annette’s experience and track record of community involvement,” said WBTW vp and gm Jeff West.
