NBC 10 Boston Reporter: ‘I Am in Remission’

Boston reporter Natasha Verma says she was off air and social media because she was battling cancer.

“I am very aware that many of you have asked about my whereabouts on NBC 10 Boston. Thank you for your concern. Five months ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I immediately underwent aggressive chemotherapy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston,” she said on the NBC 10 Boston website.

Verma says after treatment she is in remission and plans to return to work in February.

“With the incredible support of my family and friends, I was able to overcome the physical and emotional toll of this terrible disease.”

One of the toughest parts of going through treatment was losing her hair, Verma said. She has dedicated herself to raising money and donating free wigs to women fighting cancer who can’t afford them.
