MyNetworkTV Turns to Dramas

MyNetworkTV’s evolution has taken another dramatic turn. For its fourth season this fall, wrestling and movie night are gone in favor of two more off-net dramas.

Back-to-back episodes of “Monk” will air on Fridays with WWE’s “SmackDown” gone, while two hours of “Without A Trace” will replace a movie on Thursdays. On Wednesdays, “Burn Notice” joins the schedule.

MyNetworkTV last fall refashioned itself as mostly a prime-time outlet for syndicated fare, looking for shows that had some proven ability to draw viewers. Its gambits with telenovelas, mixed martial arts, magic specials and other newfangled fare largely failed over three seasons. More…
