Mollie Lair Leaving WLWT After Five Years

Weekend anchor Mollie Lair is leaving Cincinnati NBC affiliate WLWT after five years.

“This role has defined much of my life since 2017,” Lair said on social media. “It is a bittersweet moment to put down the microphone. After all, this job is all I’ve known my entire adult life. I’m thrilled for a new chapter filled with new challenges.”

Lair told Cincinnati media writer John Kiesewetter she’s staying in Cincinnati after leaving the station. Lair also said she’s “excited to explore another opportunity” and is undecided whether she’ll go back to local TV.

Kiesewetter said Lair’s departure leaves WLWT with two vacancies to fill. Traffic reporter Alanna Martella left in July to move to Boston with boyfriend Michael Parman, who’s starting a one-year sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital.

Before joining WLWT, Lair worked at KFVS in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She started her career at WTAP in Parkersburg, W.V.
