Lainey Gerber will join Grand Rapids, Michigan NBC affiliate WOOD as a local sports reporter.
Gerber comes from KSNT in Topeka, Kansas.
“Lainey knows what it’s like to cover champions. Her time in Kansas put her right in the middle of some of the biggest sports stories in the country. I know WOOD TV8 viewers will love how Lainey blends her passion for sports into the stories she tells,” news director Brad Kessie said.

“I’m excited to get to know new athletes, coaches and a new community! I’m ready to tell stories all over West Michigan and make this place home,” Gerber said. “The sports here have so much to offer. I’m ready to hit the ground running.”
Her first day on air is Feb. 21, 2024.
