Miami Station Reveals New Set

Miami FOX affiliate WSVN debuted its much-hyped set redesign on Sunday night. The station underwent its first “massive overhaul” of the set since 1994.

The South Florida Business Journal reports that billionaire Ed Ansin (the owner of WSVN and real estate firm Sunbeam Properties) spent $500,000 on the renovations.

“It’s important nowadays to be up to date on technology to keep viewers, especially younger viewers, attracted to the newscast,” Ansin told the Business Journal. “It’s much bigger and much more impactful.”

The ‘Newspex’ includes three giant background video walls, a large, constantly updated ticker below them, an updated graphics package and more.
