Marvin Hurst Leaves KENS in San Antonio After 19 Years

By Kevin Eck

Morning anchor Marvin Hurst has departed San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS after 19 years.

“I am going into my 19th year at KENS 5. It will be my shortest. My anniversary date is December 27th. Contractually, I will come to the end of the road on December 31st,” he wrote on Facebook. “I told my bosses I would exit about seven or eight months ago. They have been more than gracious in my departure. That’s appreciated because this is an emotionally challenging separation for me. I love San Antonio!”

In his post, he said he was leaving to be closer to his wife, who lives in Dallas.
