Louisville Anchor, Nine Months Pregnant, Announces She’s Moving On

When WDRB anchor Lindsay Allen takes her maternity leave she won’t return.

After 10 years in various roles at the Louisville, Ky. station, Allen is stepping away from her career to take care of her young children.

“At this juncture of life, I have decided to take a step back from my journalism career to stay at home with our young children. This decision is one that I have not made lightly. I’ve thought long and hard about this choice for months. But I know in my heart, for my growing family, it’s what is best and what I need to do,” she wrote on Facebook.

Allen is in her ninth month of pregnancy. Her last day will be Feb. 14.

When she started at WDRB in 2009 she began as a morning reporter and part-time anchor. She eventually became the full-time face of the evening newscasts.
