Longtime WTOL anchor Jerry Anderson will sign off for the last time today after 40 years.

The Toledo, Ohio, anchor began his career in 1974 and joined the Raycom-owned CBS affiliate in 1980.

Earlier this month the Toledo City Council honored Anderson for his commitment to the community on and off air.

“You’ve been a strong point, a steadying point to this community,” said one member.

The station announced anchor Andrew Kinsey will replace Anderson starting Monday. He will anchor the evening newscasts on WTOL and WUPW alongside Viviana Hurtado and Kristi Leigh.
