WCVB anchor Heather Unruh is leaving the Hearst-owned Boston station.

“After 15 years at WCVB, Heather Unruh has decided to leave us today,” wrote GM Bill Fine and news director Andrew Vrees in a joint statement. “Andrew and I want to sincerely thank Heather for her many contributions to WCVB, and the Boston community where she often offered her talents as an MC (sic) to raise money for some great non-profits. We wish her all the best.”

Unruh started at the Boston ABC affiliate in June 2001. At the time, she came from KFOR in Oklahoma City and has also worked at WVTM in Birmingham, Ala., WBNG in Binghamton, N. Y. and WVEU in Atlanta, Ga.
