An annual softball tournament between rival stations in the Hartford/New Haven market came to an early end Saturday when two staffers collided on the field.

According to a report on Fox61.com, WTNH (ABC) sports director John Pierson collided with Fox61 morning director Kevin Paradise.

There were injuries to both players and we wish them a speedy recovery.

This is the sixth year that four local stations held the tournament. Fox61 was seeking its second straight win in the championship game with WTNH. The stations agreed on a tie. WVIT (NBC) came in third and WFSB (CBS) came in last. NBC CT came in third and Eyewitness 3 came in last.

Proceeds from the event go to charities selected by the Fox and ABC affiliates.
