Lily Bradley to Join WTAE in Pittsburgh

Lily Bradley is joining WTAE in Pittsburgh as a reporter.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said Bradley will be known as Lily Coleman when she joins the Pittsburgh ABC affiliate after her wedding in October.

“I don’t know why I thought planning a wedding, moving back to Pittsburgh and starting a new job would be a good idea to do in three weeks,” Bradley said. “But by the grace of God, it has all worked out.”

Bradley comes from WOWK in the Charleston-Huntington market in West Virginia.

She told the Post-Gazette her fiancé’s first name is Bradley, “so she figured it would be easier to take his last name to avoid any confusion during their married life.”

“If I had a dollar for every time someone said he should take my last name, I could pay for my wedding,” she said.

Bradley’s mother Amy was an anchor at WJAC in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Her father, John was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1987 NHL Draft and was a teammate of and roommates with current Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan while at Boston University.

“I figured I could be a hockey player like my dad or a news anchor like my mom,” she said. “I figured my options would be easier on the journalism side.”
