Jay Leno returns to NBC’s “Tonight Show” Monday evening hoping to regain his late-night ratings dominance and erase memories of the fractious past nine months.
The move means Leno and all of late-night TV are hitting the reset button. Leno once again is pitted against longtime rival David Letterman on CBS at 11:35 p.m.

“We want to see what he’s going to do,” says Syracuse University professor and pop culture expert Robert Thompson. “Is it going to look different?”
