Nexstar’s Los Angeles CW affiliate KTLA is launching a 5 p.m. newscast next month.

The weekday newscast, which will begin airing on Oct. 4, will be anchored by Pedro Rivera and Cher Calvin along with meteorologist Vera Jimenez, who also works the 6, 6:30, 10 and 11 p.m. shows.

Rivera comes from Sacramento sister station KTXL. On Friday, Rivera posted a goodbye to KTXL viewers on Facebook.
