Kyla Grogan Joins KRON in San Francisco as Daytime Meteorologist

Kyla Grogan is joining San Francisco Nexstar station KRON as a daytime meteorologist.

Grogan will work the KRON 4 News at Noon, Live! In the Bay at 1 p.m.—and KRON 4 News at 3 p.m. She’ll also provide weather for the station’s streaming news app, KRON-ON.

“We are very excited to welcome Kyla to our team here at KRON 4,” said KRON news director Josh Palefsky. “Kyla is well-known by viewers in our community as an outstanding meteorologist and—most importantly—has a deep understanding of the Bay Area’s unique microclimates.”


Grogan has worked as a meteorologist in some of the largest media markets including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and most recently at KTVU in Oakland.

She began her career in journalism working as a reporter and anchor and transitioned to meteorology where she worked for the Weather Channel.

Before working in TV, Grogan sang and danced in Broadway touring companies including The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Beehive and Starlight Express.

She starts on Monday Aug. 1.
