KTXS Brings HD Local News to Abilene-Sweetwater

ABC-affiliate KTXS became the first station in the Abilene-Sweetwater market to broadcast its local news in HD on Wednesday with its 5 p.m. newscast.

“Our viewers hold us to a higher standard and with KTXS News in high definition, they will be very pleased with this tremendous upgrade to their viewing experience,” said Kyle Krebs, KTXS’s vice president and general manager.

KTXS news director George Levesque called the HD launch a “seminal moment for KTXS and for Abilene. It gives people a chance to see for the first time amazing detail of the cities, towns and counties they live in.” (Video of the station’s HD introduction here).

To show off its new HD look, the Bonten Media Group-owned station is airing  a 90-second video of natural scenery from the area at the close of its 10 p.m. newscast.
