KTVZ morning anchor Cathy Marshall has been promoted to news director for the Bend, Oregon NBC affiliate.
Marshall joined the station earlier this year from KGW in Portland where she had been working as a reporter, anchor and managing editor since 2011.
“Cathy is a proven news leader, with a passion for sharing stories with the utmost quality journalism,” said general manager Ron Parodi. “With her strong leadership, along with the passionate and talented news team at KTVZ, she will enrich and continue NewsChannel 21’s 45-year legacy as Central Oregon’s news leader.”
The station said that in her nearly forty year career she’s worked at CNN and news stations in Boston, New Haven, Seattle and Portland, Oregon, and as a sideline reporter for Beaver Sports Network.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with our incredible news team to uphold the journalism excellence created at NewsChannel 21,” said Marshall. “As News Director, my goal is to continue providing vital and impactful coverage of our community and serve our audience across all platforms. “
