Ross Palombo is leaving Fox-owned Oakland station KTVU to be Washington, D.C. Bureau Chief for WPLG in Miami.
Palombo announced the move on last night’s KTVU 10 p.m. newscast. He joined KTVU in 2015 after working at WPLG as an investigative reporter.
“After a wonderful run here at KTVU and leading out political coverage, and the race for the presidency over this last year, doing investigative and anchoring on the weekends” Palombo told viewers. “I just accepted a position to be a correspondent at a new Washington, D.C. bureau for, as we say, another network.”
We reported last week, WPLG was opening a new D.C. bureau, but didn’t announced the staff.
He’s also worked with CBS News as an anchor and correspondent for 365 and spent five years at KRON in San Francisco.
