Fox-owned Oakland station KTVU was off the air for about five hours after a power outage this morning.
KTVU morning anchor Pam Cook first indicated there was a problem when she tweeted at 6:12 a.m., “Waiting for power.”
The station later let viewers know it was down with another tweet at 7 a.m. “KTVU is currently experiencing technical difficulties and we hope to be back on air shortly,” the station wrote.
The Mercury News says the outage happened around 5 a.m. The station began broadcasting again around 9 a.m. with a feed from the national Fox network feed, and was able to finally resume its regularly scheduled programming slightly after 10 a.m. According to the Mercury News:
A few minutes after 9 a.m., there was a short local news update from the Oakland studio, but Cook indicated there were still technical difficulties the station was working to resolve. As she gave one of the updates, Cook held a smart phone in her hand and was looking at it as she spoke.
