Earlier this week, KSAT anchor Stephania Jimenez went on social media to reveal that she had been off the air because she had a miscarriage.

“It’s hard for me to even begin,” the anchor for the San Antonio ABC affiliate wrote.  “But, basically I had a miscarriage and there’s all the emotional stuff that comes along with it like seeing doctors and all that stuff. And I wanted to make sure I had time to recover.”

The following day, she posted a thank you for the support she receieved.

“From the bottom of my heart…thank YOU. Thank YOU to everyone who has sent prayers and well-wishes my way. I’m touched. Miscarriage or loss is difficult, but it is easier to cope when you’re surrounded by love and support,” she wrote. “This has made me think: I’m blessed with a platform here at KSAT 12 & KSAT.com. Many of you have shared your infertility struggles with me. Some of you have shared success stories. What do you want people to know? What message do you have for people who are struggling to start their families? Let me know. I’d like to help.”

“In due time I will tell you more about what happened, because as I’ve gone through this I realized this happens to so many people, so many families, so many women who want to start their own families and it can be a real isolating experience. I’ve certainly felt that way,” she said.
