In September, KOMO anchor Mary Nam told viewers she would take a few weeks off to undergo breast cancer treatment.
She did not anticipate taking the time off. After getting her first mammogram, Nam discovered she had the disease and would require surgery.
After successful mastectomy, Nam was told she does not need chemotherapy or any further treatment. But this is all because she caught it early, she said.
Now that she’s back to work, the Seattle anchor talked about her story on the 4 p.m. news and gave women advice as part of breast cancer awareness month coverage.
