A KOCO-TV reporter and photographer found themselves in the bull’s-eye of one of Monday’s first tornadoes in central Oklahoma — during rush hour at Interstate 40 and Choctaw Road.

And thanks to a camera on a BlackBerry handheld device, it was captured on video.

The tornado destroyed a Love’s Travel Stop convenience store as dozens of people huddled in a cooler, according to witnesses who talked to Eyewitness News 5. The tornado was one of at least a dozen confirmed across the state that killed at least five people and injured dozens more. More…
